- Mild redness, swelling, or small bumps at injection points (30 minutes to 2 hours to resolve)
- bruising (5-7 days to resolve naturally; Arnica may be used to speed recovery)
- Feeling of tightness or heaviness in the head (D1-D5 common; gradually resolves with time)
- Mild headache (24-48 hours; acetaminophen may be taken for relief)
- Mild soreness or pressure at the injection site (Mild chewing weakness in the 1–2 weeks following masseter injection is normal)
Serious risks (rare, but must be disclosed)
- Eyelid ptosis (upper eyelid droop)— Most commonly seen when glabellar injections diffuse to the levator palpebrae superioris; Our physician reduces this risk to <1% through precise injection point spacing. If it occurs, it typically resolves on its own within 4–6 weeks; Apraclonidine eye drops can be used to speed recovery.
- Lateral brow ptosis / facial expression asymmetry— Letybo Moderate diffusion; occasionally noted in Asian women with thinner mimetic muscles. A day-14 follow-up allows a 5–10 U touch-up to refine symmetry if needed.
- Unnatural smile— Diffusion into the zygomaticus major during crow’s feet injection; Our physician avoids this by maintaining a distance of 1.5 cm or more from the lateral canthus.
- allergic reaction— Extremely rare (Letybo® excipients contain human serum albumin); patients with known allergies must disclose prior to treatment.
- Antibody formation (treatment failure)— Letybo Antibody risk: low to moderate. For high-frequency annual users, incorporating one Xeomin® session mid-cycle is recommended to reduce cumulative antigen exposure.
- Infection at the injection site— Extremely rare; preventable with proper sterile technique
Absolute contraindications (do not treat)
- Pregnancy / breastfeeding
- Neuromuscular disorders (myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome, ALS, multiple sclerosis)
- Active infection or inflammation at the injection site
- Severe allergy to letibotulinumtoxinA or human serum albumin
- Currently taking aminoglycoside antibiotics (e.g., gentamicin, which potentiates toxin activity)
- Injection of another neurotoxin brand within the past 3 months (to avoid compounding antibody exposure)
- Unrealistic expectations (e.g., requesting a completely frozen face or absolute symmetry)
- Active depression, anxiety, or emotional instability (we recommend stabilizing your mental health before proceeding)

- Every patient undergoes a dynamic muscle assessment, review of prior neurotoxin history, and long-term treatment planning discussion before each injection.
- Written informed consent form signed before every injection, with detailed unit records kept on file.
- All injections are spaced a minimum of 12 weeks apart (to reduce antibody formation)
